For the past 31 years, the Windermere Foundation has donated a portion of the proceeds from every home purchased or sold using a Windermere agent towards supporting low-income and families experiencing homelessness in our communities. What started in 1989 as a grassroots foundation serving families in need in Washington State, has grown to encompass ten states and has raised over $41 million for programs and organizations that provide shelter, food, children’s programs, emergency assistance, and other services to those who need our help most. They started with an idea that would give every Windermere agent the ability to make a difference. Housing is Windermere's business, so helping unsheltered families and children was a natural fit.
Each year, contributions from Windermere agents, combined with donations from Windermere employees and community members, have allowed the Windermere Foundation to support non-profit agencies like Mary’s Place. Over the last ten years, Windermere and their passionate and committed agents and employees have organized cleaning days, school supply drives, and even brought hundreds of volunteers and the Seattle Seahawks to our Burien shelter to open our new kids play area!
Mary’s Place has been the beneficiary of their #TackleHomelessness partnership with the Seattle Seahawks, donating $100 to Mary’s Place for every hometown defensive tackle. To date, they have raised more than $120,000 to help ensure that no child sleeps outside in our community. (Go Hawks!)
Windermere is a family-run organization and their passion and commitment for helping families
in need in the community is a core value of the founders and all the dedicated agents of Windermere.
We are so grateful to our Windermere Foundation family.
They are a shining example of community service and inspire us all!
